This Tesla buyer got screwed on a
battery, and I'm going to try and help
him figure out the situation. I bought a
2025 Tesla Model 3 with 17,000 mi on it
for full market value from
in Phoenix, Arizona. And they gave me a
Carfax. They assured me it had clean and
clear title and that it was in a minor
accident. And so, 3 months later, I have
to take it into the dealership to get
some work done on it. The vents were
rattling. And that's when I find out
that Tesla's not going to cover it
because in their system, my vehicle is a
salvage. I'm like, "No, that can't be
true because I have the clean and clear
title, and Carfax doesn't show, you
know, that it's a salvage title." I
said, "Your system's got to be
mistaken." They said, "Well, I'm sorry,
sir. This vehicle was in an accident.
The insurance counted it as a total
loss, and they sold it at auction." And
I was using the supercharging network
and everything up until the point I took
it to Tesla. They blacklisted
it. Now, I have a vehicle that works
perfectly, 100%. It's so clean. It
drives just like silk. And now, I can't
take my vehicle on road trips. I can't
charge at Tesla charging stations or any
DC charging stations, for that matter.
Couple things. I did a video on this
exact scenario. Did you happen to see
it?
>> Yes. That's why I reached out to you. I
was like, "Like, somebody knows my
pain." Yeah. I said, "Look, I need to
have this thing on the supercharging
network. What is it that I can do?" They
said, "Well, sir, you can pay $1,400,
and we can do a salvage inspection. And
if it passes the salvage inspection,
then we'll reinstate you on the
supercharging network." So, I I said,
"Go ahead and do it." It's two tests.
It's a battery test, and then it's a
high-voltage test. So, the first test
costs about $1,000, and what they do is
inspect the physical condition of the
battery. So, they take it out of the
car, and they stopped right there, and
they said, "Yes, sir, your vehicle drove
up on a curb or something. There's some
structural damage to the battery on the
bottom part of it. Okay. And the battery
will need to be replaced." Couple
options. And now, you know the truth.
You can't sell the car to somebody else
and pretend like you don't know. If you
sell it to somebody, who's going to want
to buy a car with a bad battery that
can't supercharge? I don't know. That
sucks.
>> I might have to shop around to see if
there's any other Tesla-approved service
center that will replace the battery
maybe at a better price.
>> what? We can do it. We can do a used
battery. That'll save you a bunch of
money. And I'll have my team quote a
battery replacement.
>> Oh, that would be fantastic. I'll give
you a discount on it cuz I feel terrible
for you. Yeah, that was a punch in the
gut thing for me, but I just got to
figure it out.
>> Yep.
>> Hey, man, I really enjoyed your TikToks
and everything when I came across them.
Appreciate And I'll do whatever I can to
help you here. What we would do is we'd
fix it, and then we'd send it to them to
get recertified. And then, you'd be able
to come pick it up and supercharge it on
the way home. That would be fantastic.
Where are you located? We're in Utah.
Utah, that's right.
>> Yeah, so not bad from Arizona at all.
Yeah, yeah.
>> Okay, I'm going to text this over to my
team right now. Okay, thank you.
Appreciate your help. All right, thanks,
man.
