So, most jobs are not on LinkedIn. And if you're only applying there, then you're competing with tens of thousands of people. If I were looking for a job today, I'd use these two hacks instead. First thing I do is go straight to Google and search things like site:jobs.ashbyhq.com. Product [music] intern or PM intern, you can swap Ashby with Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, SmartRecruiters, BambooHR, and a bunch of other hiring platforms. These are actual company job boards, and a lot of these roles get way fewer applicants than LinkedIn jobs. And here's the second hack. If a startup doesn't have a job role open, don't just stop there. Find the founder's name, figure out the company domain, and try emails like founder@company.com or firstname@company.com. And then [music] use ChatGPT or Claude to research the company, understand what they're building, and identify where you might be able to help. Don't just ask for a job. Pitch a role, send them a short email or Loom, your resume, and exactly how you'd create value. Most people stop at just sending resumes. So, very few people send effort. And effort is still one of the biggest unfair advantages in the job market. For more content like this, make sure you subscribe to Build a Startup.
