The appointment brings together the insurer’s excess and surplus property and casualty businesses under a single leader, Arch said. Mike Ward was promoted to executive vice president, head of E&S casualty. He will report to Mr. Conkin, along with Joe Morrello, executive vice president, head of E&S property. Mr. Conkin, based in Chicago, previously was executive vice president, casualty. Mr. Ward previously was senior vice president, chief underwriting officer, E&S casualty. The appointments are intended to strengthen Arch’s wholesale platform and support growth in the excess and surplus market, the insurer said in a statement. Jared Stacey was also named senior vice president, head of wholesale distribution, reporting to Sue Srinivasan, executive vice president, distribution. Mr. Stacey previously was senior vice president, distribution management. Separately, Valerie Turpin, division president, property, will retire effective July 1.
