The coverage is backed by a consortium of Lloyd’s of London syndicates. Willis did not respond to a request for further details. The facility offers a single policy form covering the full limit, one lead underwriter coordinating claims across markets and includes coverage for disaster response, evacuation expenses and joint ventures. Coverage can be written on a claims-made, occurrence or occurrence-reported basis. “Our clients are navigating a U.S. casualty market where securing meaningful umbrella coverage has become increasingly difficult. With the WELL facility, we’re bringing together global capacity to provide organizations with access to higher limits, streamlined placement, and tailored solutions,” said James Sallada, head of casualty, North America, Willis, in the statement. Marsh Risk recently launched a $50 million excess liability insurance facility in Bermuda and last year, Chubb, Zurich and Berkshire Hathaway launched a $100 million claims-made excess liability facility.
