The coverage provides predetermined payouts when specified cloud service outage triggers are met. Covered events may include outages affecting cloud infrastructure, software-as-a-service platforms and other cloud-based technology services, subject to policy terms and conditions. The endorsement is available in the U.S. to eligible AIG cyber policyholders. It has a two-hour waiting period and no monetary retention following the waiting period, AIG said. Developed with New York-based Parametrix, the coverage uses a parametric formula based on cloud service downtime and potential financial losses. Parametrix monitors more than 750 data centers and tracks more than 9,000 software and technology providers, AIG said.
