MS Amlin, a global specialty commercial insurance and reinsurance provider and part of MS&AD, has appointed Robin Waller as Head of Natural Resources and Lead Underwriter, Upstream.
Most recently, Waller served at Aspen as Head of Energy and Construction. He has 31 years of industry experience and has previously served for four years with Liberty Mutual in Singapore.
Simultaneously, Adam Casselman has been named Lead Underwriter, Onshore Construction, while Krishna Mistry has been appointed as Assistant Underwriter, Power and Renewables.
The appointments aim to bolster the natural resources team, adding senior underwriting expertise and expanding its capabilities into onshore construction.
With Casselman’s appointment, MS Amlin expands into a new area for the business: onshore construction for power, mining and oil and gas risks. The move extends the insurer’s offering from operational risks into the construction phase, supporting a broader range of exposures.
Casselman has 19 years of industry experience, beginning his career at Catlin before holding positions at Sompo, Canopius, and Allianz. Most recently, he was Head of International Construction at Aspen.
Mistry began her career as a graduate trainee in Aon’s Natural Resources team before moving to QBE, where she worked as an assistant underwriter.
Nicola Harris, Marine and Natural Resources Director, MS Amlin, commented, “Natural Resources is a core part of our business and one where we see significant long-term opportunity. These appointments add considerable technical expertise, experience and depth to the team, and underline our commitment to the market.
“Our expansion into onshore construction represents an important broadening of our proposition, taking us beyond operational risks and enabling us to support clients as major power, mining and oil and gas projects are developed and built.”
She continued, “It creates a new avenue for disciplined growth, deepens the relevance of our offering to brokers, and allows us to support clients from project development through to ongoing operations.
“Together, these appointments reflect our ambition to build a leadership position in Natural Resources and remain a long-term partner to brokers and clients.”
