Stratus provides limits up to $10 billion in property insurance capacity on a single-placement basis for the global exposures of U.S.-domiciled companies. It will function as an insurance exchange with 30 providers of traditional and alternative capital evaluating each risk individually, Marsh said in a statement. Stratus will initially launch with property-focused coverage and plans to expand into other insurance lines, including inland marine, cyber and casualty. Data analytics and advisory services will also be available, the statement said. Stratus is designed to complement Marsh’s construction-phase insurance facility Nimbus, to which it has been adding capacity . The two facilities can be engaged separately or together. It is intended to improve the quality and efficiency of operational digital infrastructure property placements, Joe Macejak, U.S. property digital infrastructure leader at Marsh Risk, said in the statement.
