New York-based Mr. Diaz will also continue as president of customer and distribution management until a successor is named, Zurich said. Before leading customer and distribution management, Mr. Diaz was U.S. middle market head of underwriting. Before that, he was chief operating officer for the U.S. middle market business. Mr. Diaz joined Zurich in 2008 from American International Group and has held various leadership roles, including senior vice president for large casualty and head of business performance management and execution in national accounts.
