Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Columbia, South Carolina-based Turbeville Insurance Agency was established in 1991 by William L. “Bill” Turbeville Jr. and has offices in Columbia, Lexington, Beaufort and Charleston, South Carolina, Higginbotham said in a statement. The broker specializes in coastal property, construction, contractors, developers, restaurants and other industries. Turbeville has more than 60 employees, all of whom will be joining Higginbotham, according to an email from a spokeswoman. Further growth would require “a different kind of scale,” Mr. Turbeville said in the statement Turbeville clients will continue working with their local teams, the statement said. Higginbotham is the 19 th -largest broker of U.S. business, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
