Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition expands EPIC’s presence in Michigan, establishing a presence in the Detroit area and adding to its existing operations in Grand Rapids, the New York-based brokerage said. Founded in 1913, Korotkin has about 70 employees and specializes in for-hire transportation, family entertainment centers, real estate and fitness franchises, in addition to private clients and small businesses. Emily M. Korotkin, chief administrative officer and vice president; Jeffrey S. Belen, chief financial officer and president; JJ Reifler, chief operating officer and vice president; Kyle Fenton, chief development officer and executive vice president; and Matt H. Warsh, chief technology officer and vice president, join EPIC as managing principals, the brokerage said. EPIC, a unit of Galway Insurance Holdings, which is majority-owned by private-equity firm Harvest Partners, is the 14th-largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
