Former Sompo senior cyber underwriter will oversee growth of Arch’s cyber, tech E&O and media E&O portfolio across Italy
Arch Insurance EU has appointed Andrea De Simone as head of cyber for Italy, effective immediately.
Based in Milan, De Simone (pictured) will be responsible for growing Arch’s Italian cyber portfolio across cyber, technology errors and omissions and media errors and omissions business.
The products will be offered on both a primary and excess basis.
De Simone will report to Jose Carlos Jiménez Fernández, head of cyber, Europe.
He joins Arch from Sompo, where he was most recently a senior cyber underwriter.
Before joining Sompo, De Simone held several cyber underwriting roles at Chubb.
Jiménez Fernández said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andrea to the European cyber team.
“His appointment marks an exciting development for our cyber proposition across Continental Europe.”
He added: “We see opportunities for growth in Italy and with Andrea’s underwriting expertise and deep understanding of the local market, we are well positioned to support our brokers and mutual clients.”
