More than 400,000 chocolate bars, including limited-edition Formula 1-themed products, were stolen from a truck en route from Italy to Poland, according to Nestlé, the brand’s parent. In response, the company has launched an online “Stolen KitKat Tracker,” allowing consumers to check whether bars they’ve purchased are part of the missing 12-ton shipment. The chocolates can be identified by an eight-digit batch code printed on the packaging. Customers who find a match are asked to report it and provide additional details to aid recovery efforts. “Just to clarify, this is not a stunt, or an April Fool’s joke,” KitKat said in a social media post. “Someone really stole 12 tonnes of KitKats.
