Cotality, which was formerly known as CoreLogic, on Monday estimated losses of $2 billion to $3 billion, while Verisk on Tuesday said losses will likely be between $1 billion and $2 billion. Most of the insured losses are expected in the Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama, Cotality said. The Category 2 hurricane made landfall near Destin, Florida, on Friday evening. The National Hurricane Center reported maximum sustained winds of 100 mph shortly after landfall, and a weather station at Panama City Beach recorded a gust of 83 mph. Isaias weakened rapidly after moving inland and became a post-tropical cyclone over Alabama on Saturday, Cotality said. Heavy rainfall flooded parts of the Southeast.
