Aon plc, a global professional services firm that provides risk, retirement and health solutions to clients worldwide, has announced the appointment of Simon Hawkins as Executive Managing Director for Reinsurance within its Global Legacy team, joining the company later this year. Hawkins will advise clients on complex legacy and run-off transactions, supporting the delivery of capital advisory solutions across global markets. As part of Aon’s global legacy team, he will work closely with the company’s regional capital advisory hubs to support legacy activity internationally. Based in London, Hawkins will report to Mike Cane, Aon’s head of capital advisory for the UK. According to Aon, the appointment reflects the company’s continued investment in its legacy offering as demand for legacy solutions grows across global insurance markets. Hawkins moves to Aon from Compre, where he served as chief operating officer, having previously held the role of head of legacy at QBE. Aon said his experience in legacy and run-off transactions will help support clients worldwide as interest in legacy solutions continues to increase. “We are excited to welcome Simon to Aon at a time when our clients require innovative legacy solutions,” commented Kelly Superczynski, Global Head of Capital Advisory in Reinsurance for Aon. “His leadership experience in the legacy sector and broader markets make him a valuable addition to our global legacy team.” “This appointment underlines our commitment to the legacy segment,” added Mike Cane, Head of UK Capital Advisory in Reinsurance for Aon. “Simon’s proven client leadership and technical legacy expertise complement the team’s market knowledge and client relationships, strengthening our ability to deliver a leading legacy offering while continuing to innovate in an area of growing strategic importance for clients.”
