In his new role, Baker will develop Atrium’s specialty reinsurance portfolio, in line with its five-year transformation strategy. He will join Atrium in 2027 from Chaucer, once he has completed any contractual obligations. John Fowle, chief executive at Atrium, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Baker to Atrium. Baker is one of them. ”His reputation reflects his deep expertise in complex reinsurance structures and a proven ability to deliver solutions to clients and brokers.” Experience Baker has spent most of his career at Chaucer, which he joined in 2004 as a marine and energy reinsurance underwriter. Fowle said: ”We have a clear and disciplined strategy to grow our reinsurance portfolio in areas aligned with client demand and where we believe we can deliver a strong value perspective. “Baker’s extensive experience in managing large, sophisticated treaty portfolios, together with his well-established relationships with both clients and brokers, makes him exceptionally well placed to lead the development of our specialty reinsurance portfolio.” His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
