The index ranks 130 countries and territories based on the resilience of their business environments, using 18 factors that measure macroeconomic risks including political risk and inflation, as well as physical risks such as climate exposure and fire risk quality. Zone 1, comprising the Eastern U.S., ranked 12 th , while Zone 2, representing the Western U.S., placed 16 th . Zone 3, which includes the Central and Midwest U.S., fell one position to 11 th . The Central and Midwest U.S. zone dropped nine places in climate risk quality and declined slightly in fire risk quality, FM said. Europe claimed nine of the top 10 positions, with Denmark again ranking as the most resilient country.
