The report found that 98% of AI-related comments from claims adjusters were negative, the highest negative rate among the occupations examined. The findings point to broader resistance within insurance, which ranked among the industries most critical of AI. Eighty-one percent of AI-related comments from insurance workers were negative and 19% were positive. Only the arts and entertainment sector, at 89% negative, and nonprofits, at 85%, were more critical. Overall, employee attitudes toward AI have deteriorated as workplace use has expanded. Mentions of AI in Glassdoor reviews increased 240% from May 2025 to May 2026. In 2019, 81% of reviews mentioning AI discussed it positively, compared with 43% in 2026. This year, 53% were negative and 4% mixed. Concerns went beyond potential job losses. Among negative reviews containing specific criticisms, 20% raised concerns about AI replacing workers, 14% complained that employers forced workers to use AI tools, and 13% said companies focused on AI at the expense of their core businesses or customer experience. Workers citing AI negatively were also six times as likely to mention layoffs and 3.7 times as likely to mention job insecurity or burnout. Glassdoor said workers responded more favorably when employers provided AI tools, training and support. The report analyzed employer reviews from U.S.-based full- and part-time workers.
