Body Text

Anthony Young has joined recently launched Bermuda-domiciled reinsurance sidecar West Grove Re, Ltd as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
West Grove Re was established in August 2026 by Talcott Financial Group, a life insurance provider specialising in risk solutions, in partnership with Goldman Sachs, and has closed an approximately $1 billion capital raise.
The sidecar is to participate in a quota share of Talcott-sourced US annuities to enhance scalable, capital-efficient solutions.
Enabled by Sixth Street and Talcott’s open architecture asset management model and partnership approach, West Grove Re aims to support the platform’s accelerated growth.
Its $1 billion capital raise comprises a credit facility alongside equity commitments from Talcott, Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management (AWM), and its clients.
Young brings close to 17 years of reinsurance experience in the US, Bermuda and Canada spanning Valuation, Pricing and Group Capital to the role.
He is joining West Grove Re from Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), where he most recently served as Chief Valuation Officer and Managing Actuary.
During his eight-year tenure at RGA, Young held a number of positions increasing in responsibility. He joined the company in 2018 as an Actuary, and was then appointed Executive Director before becoming Vice President and Actuary, and Chief Valuation Actuary after that. His career also includes positions at firms such as Partner Re and Munich Re Canada.
Commenting on his appointment, Young said: “I’m pleased to share that I have joined West Grove Re, Ltd. as Chief Executive Officer. I look forward to working with the Board, our investors and partners to build the business and excited for the work ahead.”
