The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, names Christopher Chase Carlisle, Karina Carlisle, and four of their colleagues: Frances Hartung, Kelly Pedrotti, Stephanie Navarro, and Melisa Stecker. All six resigned from Acrisure on April 1 and promptly joined Lockton. Acrisure alleges the defendants took customer lists, pricing information and proprietary business strategies, and have been using that information to poach Acrisure clients. The complaint alleges that at least three customers who had been assigned to Christopher Carlisle have already signaled their intent to leave Acrisure and name Lockton as their broker of record. The case has roots in a 2018 acquisition, when Acrisure purchased Corpus Christi, Texas-based Carlisle Insurance Agency. All six defendants signed employment agreements that barred them from soliciting Acrisure clients or employees for two years after leaving. Acrisure says it sent cease-and-desist letters that were ignored. The company is now seeking a preliminary injunction to stop the alleged solicitation, as well as damages and attorneys’ fees. Lockton, which is not named in the suit, declined to comment.
