Authorities in Edgewater are investigating possible insurance fraud after additional vehicles appeared in a River Road parking lot that was inundated during a nor’easter late last month, according to PIX11 News. Video taken Saturday, Sept. 26, showed several cars submerged in the lot. By Monday, more vehicles were underwater, including a BMW 7 Series and a Mercedes-Benz S580 valued at about $130,000. “These vehicles didn’t accidentally end up in this water,” Borough Administrator Greg Franz told PIX11. Mr. Franz said authorities have video that appears to show vehicles being driven into the flooded area after the flooding began. Police are investigating the circumstances.
