The study, released Thursday, draws on responses from 338 claims leaders surveyed between November 2025 and January 2026. Among 137 respondents reporting use of the technologies, 50% reported improved claim closure outcomes and 58% reported improved frontline staff efficiency or effectiveness. However, 35% had not assessed the effect on claim closure outcomes, and 28% had not assessed staff efficiency gains. Adoption was more common among organizations classified as higher performers: 57% reported using the technologies, compared with 34% of lower performers. The study defines higher performers as organizations reporting at least 101 claims closed for every 100 received. Administrative demands remain a widespread obstacle. Eighty-five percent of respondents said administrative and compliance workloads hinder other claims activities, including communication with injured workers and return-to-work coordination.
