The London Market Group (LMG) has announced the appointment of Joe Brace, Operations Director at the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), as the new Chair of the Data Council. Brace succeeds Sheila Cameron, CEO of the LMA, who has been Chair of the Data Council since its inception in 2021. Brace has served as LMA’s Operations Director since April 2025. Before that, he was Apollo’s Head of Change. Previously, he served as Senior Manager, Transformation Lead at BT and also held senior leadership roles at Lloyd’s, including Head of Strategic PMO and Project Management and, most recently, Head of Change Delivery. Chris Lay, Chair of the London Market Group, said, “Since the Data Council was founded, it has worked to deliver significant digital change, including increased adoption of data standards through the introduction of both the Core Data Record (CDR) and the Market Reform Contract (MRC) v3. The work of the Data Council has been pivotal to the digital progress in the London market. On behalf of the market, I would like to thank Sheila for her leadership of this vital work over the last five years. “Joe takes up this important responsibility at a critical moment, with the increasing application of the data standards that are essential to the market’s continued digitalisation agenda.” Joe Brace, Chair of the Data Council and Operations Director of the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), said, “Alignment on shared data standards and embedding these standards into usable market-facing tools, such as the CDR and MRC, is vital to the market functioning as a digitally traded business. I look forward to building on the excellent work done by the Data Council and by Sheila, under whose leadership the market has taken the positive steps towards adoption of data standards.”
