Terms of the transaction, announced in December 2025, were not disclosed. Vave will operate under its own brand name as part of Acrisure Underwriting, a New York-based group of 12 U.S. managing general agents, under the leadership of its founding management team led by CEO Marek Shafer. The tech-driven MGA provides bindable quotes on catastrophe-exposed excess and surplus property risk in the U.S. It recently launched a California-specific home and commercial property product and plans to launch a commercial package product focused on cat-exposed areas, Acrisure said in a statement. Canopius Group will continue to be one of Vave’s capacity providers under a multiyear agreement. Acrisure is the eighth-largest broker of U.S. business, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
