This year’s winners developed solutions to help clients and policyholders address emerging risks, improve underwriting and claims processes, harness technology more effectively and enhance the customer experience. The awards also recognize companies that are investing in their workforces, supporting their communities and helping develop the next generation of industry professionals. The highlight of the awards event, held in July in Chicago, was the presentation of the Business Insurance Lifetime Achievement Award to Danielle Lisenbey, retired CEO and president of MedRisk and former CEO and global president of Broadspire Services, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the insurance and risk management sector ( see the profile here ). BI editors selected finalists in 13 categories and an independent panel of risk managers evaluated the finalists to determine the winners. Profiles of the winning teams and organizations are below. The awards also support efforts to attract and develop the next generation of insurance professionals through Business Insurance’ s collaboration with the Spencer Educational Foundation, which provides scholarships, grants and educational programs to strengthen risk management education.
