Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. FirstCare provides clinicians at employers’ worksites to evaluate and treat workplace injuries, deliver triage and occupational health services, and support employees’ return to work. FirstCare will continue providing onsite treatment, while workers requiring additional care will have access to Carisk’s specialty care, complex care management and behavioral health services, according to the announcement. Carisk said it plans to invest in expanding FirstCare’s onsite services and provide access to its technology, data capabilities and national relationships. In December 2023, Carisk completed a recapitalization, saying at the time that the recapitalization would fund its continued expansion and investment in products and services across the workers compensation claims process.
