Fourteen captive insurer applications were received for the year ending Dec. 31, 2025, all of which were approved, the Oklahoma Insurance Department said in a statement Friday. Four captives dissolved during the year, resulting in the net gain of 10. The state’s captive insurance program has grown by 64% since 2022. That growth “shows a focused effort to rebuild confidence in Oklahoma as a captive insurance domicile,” Captive Director Steve Kinion said in the statement. At yearend 2024, Oklahoma was the 23rd-largest captive domicile globally, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
