Benign catastrophe losses helped bolster results, the reinsurer said in a statement, referencing “very low major-loss expenditure in property-casualty reinsurance.” Strong investment results also helped bolster profits, the reinsurer said. Munich Re said it is “firmly on track to meet its net result target of €6.3 billion for the 2026 financial year” based on net profits of about €3.9 billion for the first six months. The reinsurer is scheduled to provide final second-quarter 2026 results on August 7.
