The affirmative wording is designed to remove ambiguity and provides confirmation that intellectual property claims involving AI can remain covered when otherwise meeting the policy’s coverage requirements, the specialist insurer said in a statement. The addition covers AI-related intellectual property exposures in the technology lifecycle, from the data used to train a model and the algorithms underpinning it to the content and other outputs it generates, the statement said. The intellectual property enhancement is the most recent in CFC’s effort to embed affirmative AI coverage across its portfolio, the statement said.
