The MGA will offer nonadmitted coverage for hard-to-place risks and distribute coverage exclusively through wholesale brokers, Amwins said in a statement. The unit is led by Rebecca Gitig, executive vice president, who previously was head of U.S. primary liability at Aspen Insurance. She is joined by Randy Villanueva and Meredith McLelland, both senior vice presidents and also formerly with Aspen. Amwins announced the appointments in May. The MGA will focus on real estate, hospitality and products risks, and other complex operations, Ms. Gitig said in an email. Illumin Specialty expects to finalize capacity and begin accepting new business in the fourth quarter, Amwins said.
