Gallagher & Co. May 28, 2026 Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has collaborated with managing general agent FloodFlash to launch parametric insurance designed to protect golf courses from damage and closure due to extreme weather. The product provides up to $10 million of flood coverage per golf course. Clients choose trigger depths and payout amounts. If water reaches a pre-agreed depth, the coverage will pay out the pre-agreed amount, the companies said in a statement. Upon policy purchase, FloodFlash will install sensors at points around the course chosen by the client. Depth measurements are taken with millimeter resolution. FloodFlash plans to approve claims within 48 hours and for the entire claims process to be completed within 28 days, the statement said. Extreme weather is a major problem for golf courses in certain geographies, James Bosley, head of climate strategy, carbon insurance and parametric solutions at Gallagher, said in the statement. “Golf courses are often built nearby water features such as rivers, lakes or on the coast which makes then highly susceptible to flooding,” he said.
