Mr. Schoberth reports to Shadi Albert, who was recently named CEO after the insurer’s previous CEO stepped down. Chicago-based Mr. Schoberth will lead HDI’s distribution and broker management and marketing and communications functions. The appointment is part of HDI’s Xcelerate29 strategy and its plans to expand its U.S. business, the insurer said in a statement. Mr. Schoberth most recently was chief distribution officer for the U.S. and Bermuda at Canopius Group. Before that, he was chief distribution officer at Joyn Insurance and prior to that global head of distribution and U.S. market development director at Lloyd’s of London. Earlier in his career, he was head of distribution at Blackboard Insurance and held senior distribution roles at QBE Insurance and XL Group.
