Acrisure owns 13 U.S.-based MGAs that collectively underwrite over $1 billion in premium. Six of the MGAs will initially operate under the Asero brand, with more to follow, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based brokerage said in a statement. Asero targets small and midsize businesses in commercial auto, logistics, commercial property, security and alarm contractors, artisan contractors and snow and ice removal classes. Coverage includes property, casualty, workers compensation and specialty lines. “Asero is the next step in unifying nearly 20 acquisitions into a single underwriting platform,” Adrian Jones, head of underwriting and specialty retail at Acrisure, said in a statement. Earlier this year, Acrisure launched homeowners MGA Ascendri Insurance Services and acquired property MGA Vave from Canopius.
