Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. kWh Analytics will move into Beazley’s marine, accident and political risks team. CEO Jason Kaminsky will report to Tim Turner, group head of MAP Risks. The deal will bolster Beazley’s ability in modeling, underwriting and risk management of renewable energy projects, the specialty insurer said in a statement. “The energy transition represents one of the most significant opportunities for the specialty insurance market,” Adrian Cox, CEO of Beazley, said in the statement. kWh Analytics launched in 2012 as a solar data and analytics company, and introduced its first product, HelioStats, in 2016. Its Solar revenue product debuted in 2016 backed by Swiss Re. Beazley recently agreed to be acquired by Zurich for almost $11 billion.
