Jun 22, 2026 The Hartford on Monday named Dave Draper chief underwriting officer of its U.K. operations. London-based Mr. Draper was named interim CUO earlier this year following the departure of Colin Sprott, and will continue to report to Carl Bach, The Hartford’s head of international business. Mr. Draper previously was head of third-party lines and before that head of casualty, international. Prior to that, Mr. Draper was head of international casualty at Navigators Group, which The Hartford acquired in 2018. Separately, Bertie Troughton was appointed head of upstream energy, international. Mr. Troughton will report to Julian Samuel, The Hartford’s international head of first party lines. Mr. Troughton previously was lead underwriter at MS Amlin.
