The reinsurance will support DLT Alert’s parametric cyber warranty program for cyber security solution system suppliers, to be launched next week, LIRG said in a statement. Ocean Re will provide capacity under LIRG’s new binding authority agreement with the reinsurer, together with a panel of insurers including Bermuda-based reinsurer Ensuro. DLT Alert’s warranties provide coverage for breaches at third-party suppliers. Policies pay out once DLT Alert detects specific cyber breach activity at a warranty holders’ technology vendors or suppliers. Payouts could occur within 24 hours of loss verification, Nick Lamparelli, chief program officer at Newport Beach, California-based LIRG, said in the statement.
