It is designed for major infrastructure projects including rail, road and other underground developments. Construction rescue responds to events of tunnel collapse, flooding, power outage, fire, equipment failure, or any unexpected event where contractors or workers are unable to reach the surface, Munich Re Specialty said in a statement. It covers response and recovery operations, the use of specialist equipment and personnel, technical and logistical coordination, and other day-one needs, the statement said. The policy offers underwriting limits of $25 million per project. Construction rescue sits alongside and separate from cover such as construction all risks, employers’ liability, workers compensation, delay in start and general liability. Tunneling is among the most technically demanding disciplines in global infrastructure, Stephanie Ogden, CEO of Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets, Syndicate, said in the statement.
