The alleged barricade figures in a lawsuit against Mr. Seaver and his security company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, by She’s Alive LLC, accusing him of threatening Ms. Parton’s business interests to obtain money. Mr. Seaver previously provided security for the singer and her properties. Lawyers for the estate said three attempts to serve Mr. Seaver were unsuccessful. On one visit, four cars were in the driveway, but nobody answered the door. A photograph filed with the court showed wire across the porch railings, strips of caution tape and pumpkins adding a seasonal touch. Whether the display was intended to deter legal visitors or simply celebrate Halloween remained unanswered. Mr. Seaver did not respond to Rolling Stone’s request for clarification. The estate’s lawyers cited the alleged evasion in opposing his request for more time to hire an attorney. Mr. Seaver said he began looking for counsel after being served, but his preferred lawyer was unavailable until Oct. 5. He previously told TMZ that his messages had been taken out of context and denied making threats.
