The new maximum takes effect July 1 for determining the maximum wage received by an injured worker under state workers compensation law. It also takes effect Jan. 1, 2027, for calculating the maximum amount paid to any one nongovernmental employee during a policy year. The state average weekly wage used to calculate maximum disability compensation for fiscal year 2027 was certified at $1,314.50. Under Nevada law, the average monthly wage is capped at 150% of the state average weekly wage, multiplied by 4.33. Maximum disability compensation in Nevada is two-thirds of the average monthly wage. For fiscal year 2027, that equals $5,691.79 per month, $1,308.86 per week, $186.98 per day or $2,617.72 for the usual 14-day payment period. If an injured worker’s earned wage on the date of injury is less than $8,537.68 per month, compensation is calculated based on two-thirds of the worker’s actual earned wage.
