Ms. Stanford, previously CEO of Aspen UK, will report to Alessa Quane, CEO, international markets, and remain based in London. She succeeds Bob Thaker, who will leave the company later this year to pursue other opportunities, Sompo said in a statement. Ms. Stanford was appointed CEO of Aspen UK in 2024. Before that, she was the active underwriter of Lloyd’s of London Syndicate 4711. She was a 2022 Business Insurance Women to Watch winner . Sompo announced last year that it had agreed to buy Aspen for $3.5 billion.
