The actor, who plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch on the HBO Max medical drama, joined lawmakers and more than 400 doctors, nurses, medical students and health care professionals at a rally this week to push for bipartisan legislation focused on health care staffing and worker support, according to The Hill. The event, hosted by health care apparel company and advocacy group FIGS, was aimed at supporting several bills, including the Healthcare is Human Act, which backers say would provide tax credits for qualifying health care professionals serving in federally recognized staffing shortage areas. This week’s rally came as worker safety concerns in health care are getting harder to diagnose as a theoretical problem. A recent Sentry Insurance report found that 63% of health care executives worry that added demands on employees could lead to more workplace injuries. This is not the first time Mr. Wyle made a dash for the beeping machine that many see as modern health care in crisis: he previously spoke in Washington over chronic understaffing, administrative burdens and mental health strains among workers.
