A yes vote would end recreational sales and home cultivation effective Jan. 1, 2028. Medical marijuana would remain legal under the proposal, and adults 21 and older could still possess up to one ounce, including no more than 5 grams of concentrate, according to the state’s official voter guide. The Coalition for a Healthy Massachusetts supports repeal, citing impaired driving, mental health concerns and what it describes as increased workplace injuries, health care costs and employee turnover. The Massachusetts Cannabis Coalition opposes the measure, arguing that eliminating licensed sales would remove product testing and other safeguards, push consumers toward illicit sellers and cost businesses and jobs. Both groups presented their arguments in the state voter guide.
