Mr. Lottimore and his mother were among those on board, along with two pilots and two medical crew members. “We are profoundly saddened by the loss of our colleague, Sergio Lottimore,” Hamilton said in a LinkedIn post. The Canadian-registered air ambulance disappeared early Saturday after departing Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport shortly after midnight. The Gulfstream aircraft, operated by Canada-based Latitude Air Ambulance, was carrying two pilots, two medical crew members, a patient and a relative of the patient, according to aviation data provider Cirium. The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search Sunday after crews located a debris field off Nantucket, Massachusetts. The pilot reported electrical problems and declared an emergency before contact with the aircraft was lost, according to air traffic control audio cited by the Associated Press. The aircraft had descended sharply from a cruising altitude of about 24,000 feet before disappearing. Mr. Lottimore joined Hamilton Re in November 2024 as vice president of credit, bond and political risk reinsurance. He previously spent three years at Validus Re and 15 years at MS Amlin. “The entire Hamilton team is heartbroken by the loss of a respected leader, colleague and friend,” Hamilton said.
