New York-based Mr. Hoffman most recently was global specialty and financial products leader and head of mergers and acquisitions for the brokerage. Previously, he held various leadership roles, including head of cyber. He joined Aon from Chubb in 2003. In his new role, which is effective June 1, Mr. Hoffman will head Aon’s main brokerage operations. He will report to Mr. Peiser, who was named CEO of risk capital in February . Mr. Hoffman’s promotion is one of several recent senior appointments at Aon, including naming regional leaders in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and in Latin America last week , and a new North America CEO in March .
