Casino & Hotel is betting big that not one will confuse their designer flair with that of Louis Vuitton, but the French fashion giant begs to differ. The makers of high-end handbags and more have filed a federal lawsuit in Maryland accusing the casino of running promotions that allegedly used bags and branding too similar to Louis Vuitton’s famous monogram and floral marks, according to reporting by WBAL-TV 11 News. Louis Vuitton claims the casino promoted and distributed bags that closely replicated its trademarks, creating the impression that the luxury brand had given them permission. The company said it objected in writing in April 2026, but the casino allegedly did not fully stop. The lawsuit also alleges a second campaign involving purportedly authentic Louis Vuitton items used in casino promotions, raising claims of trademark counterfeiting, infringement, false association, trademark dilution and Maryland common-law unfair competition. Louis Vuitton says the conduct was willful, confusing to consumers and damaging to its goodwill and brand reputation — which, for a company that can make a canvas tote cost more than a used sedan, is not a small allegation. The company is seeking damages of up to $2 million per counterfeit mark per type of good, plus destruction of the allegedly infringing products, corrective advertising, profits, actual damages, costs, interest and attorney fees. WBAL reported that Maryland Live! had not responded to a request for comment.
