The two have launched Annapurna Re Ltd., a Bermuda-based casualty reinsurance sidecar using funds managed by Stone Point as the inaugural, anchor investors, the two companies said in a statement Wednesday. Annapurna is expected to deploy approximately $600 million of third-party capital to provide dedicated reinsurance capacity, the statement said. Stone Point Credit will serve as the exclusive investment manager. Strategic investor support will come from Mubadala Investment Co., a state-owned global investment firm that serves as one of the sovereign wealth funds of the government of Abu Dhabi. Reinsurance dedicated capital increased 11% to a record $648 billion in 2025, including $513 million in traditional capital and $135 million in alternative capital , Gallagher Re reported at the start of May.
