’We are delighted to see continued growth in the number of individuals who recognise the value in chartered status,’ says president The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) awarded chartered status to 453 insurance and financial planning professionals during the first half of 2026, including 195 insurance practitioners. The professional body said 195 professionals gained chartered designations across the insurance sector between January and June, with a further 258 individuals achieving chartered Financial Planner status. Of the insurance professionals recognised, 86 became chartered insurers, 53 achieved chartered insurance broker status, 43 were awarded chartered insurance practitioner titles, eight became chartered underwriters and five achieved chartered risk manager status. The latest figures continue a trend of growth in chartered designations. In 2025, the CII awarded 1,139 chartered titles to sector professionals, up from 1,127 in 2024. This included 662 chartered insurance titles in 2025, compared with 629 in 2024. Technical expertise Callum Beaton, president at CII, said: “We are delighted to see continued growth in the number of individuals who recognise the value in chartered status and invest considerable time and effort in demonstrating their technical expertise, integrity and commitment to acting in clients’ best interests.” The CII added that chartered status demonstrates a commitment to professional standards, ongoing development and ethical practice, helping to strengthen public confidence in insurance and financial planning.
