Mike Dalby Mike Dalby was appointed CEO of Howden UK&I’s Consumer & Local Commercial pillar to lead the broker’s UK high street business through its next phase of ambitious growth, taking on the role in 2025 alongside his continued leadership of Howden’s Consumer Life and Health division. Having started in insurance claims at the age of 16, and following in the footsteps of his father, he gained extensive experience across the sector, selling a vast range of products – from home and motor to life and health insurance. In 2000, Dalby followed a more entrepreneurial path, founding Health‑on‑line, a digital‑first health insurance brand that became a prominent market player. AXA Health took on the underwriting in 2006 and later acquired the business in 2012, marking a significant milestone in Dalby’s career. Here, he fulfilled a number of senior leadership roles – first as Individual Health Director before undertaking the role of Distribution Director. Since joining Howden in 2023, Dalby has utilised both his underwriting and broker experience to achieve substantial revenue growth within the Consumer Life and Health division. He has unified three businesses under a single brand and led the acquisition of Active Quote – demonstrating both strategic clarity and a commitment to sustainable expansion.
