’We have a similar ethos and appetite for growth,’ says chief executive Sodalis Group has acquired recently launched MGA Amiga Specialty. Established in June 2025 with the help of private equity firm BP Marsh, Amiga Specialty is focused on writing specialty products on behalf of blue-chip insurers and reinsurers. The firm was founded by Adam Kembrooke, the former US chief executive at Nexus Underwriting, who serves as the MGA’s managing director. The deal will see Amiga Specialty positioned as Sodalis’ MGA platform to drive global expansion across specialty lines. The MGA will also continue to operate under its existing leadership team and brand. Kembrooke said: “We built Amiga Specialty to be a different kind of specialty platform — underwriting-led, people-first, and globally minded from day one. ”Partnering with Sodalis allows us to accelerate that journey while staying true to what makes Amiga Specialty special.” Reunited The partnership reunites Kembrooke and Colin Thompson, chief executive at Sodalis, alongside several former Nexus alumni.
