Leavitt named chair of CIAB board by Claire Wilkinson Eric O. Leavitt Agents and Brokers Brown & Brown Oct 9, 2026 Eric O. Leavitt, executive chairman and CEO of Leavitt Group, will become chair of the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers’ board of directors for 2026-2027, the association said Thursday. J. Powell Brown, president and CEO of Brown & Brown, was elected vice chair. Mr. Leavitt, who succeeds John Howard, vice chairman of CRC Group, was elected during the Council’s annual Insurance Leadership Forum earlier this week in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cedar City, Utah-based Leavitt Group operates more than 80 agencies and over 290 offices in more than 30 states. Leavitt is the 25 th -largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance ’s latest ranking .
