The program covers U.S. land transit risks, including single-trip transit, annual contingent cargo and strategic theft, and is aimed at freight brokers, third-party logistics providers and shippers. Trip transit coverage is available with limits of up to $15 million per shipment, while contingent cargo liability coverage offers limits of up to $1 million. The program combines insurance coverage with Indemni’s risk management technology, including driver and equipment verification, shipment tracking and other controls intended to prevent fraudulent pickups and cargo theft, the companies said in a statement. Chaucer leads the program, with Indemni underwriting on its behalf. San Francisco-based Indemni launched Monday as an approved Lloyd’s coverholder, sponsored by Chaucer syndicate 1084, with additional capacity backed by Aviva, Atrium, Blenheim and Talbot. Separately, Indemni said it raised $4 million from venture capital firms Field Ventures and Diagram Ventures to support further development of its platform and expansion of its underwriting team.
